The Wii Rockband Game For Nintendo - Is This Game Fun or What?

By Anya Weigel

The Nintendo Rockband game for the Wii allows players to perform in their own virtual band. Rockband allows up to four players. There are a total of three peripherals that are modeled after musical instruments (lead guitar, bass guitar and drums). There is also a microphone for a vocalist.

This game was released in June of 2008. In only 4 months it had already generated $600 million dollars in revenue. By December it is already one of the top Nintendo Wii games being purchased for Christmas. The players of this game simulate playing rock and roll music by hitting the notes as they scroll across the screen. This game is an extension of the Guitar Hero series, and offers the addition of drums and vocals.

Using Rock Band's microphone, singers are judged on how closely they match the pitch of the song's vocalist. The drum set includes four rubber drum pads and a kick pedal. The pads have colored rings that correspond to the on screen notes. The game includes guitar controllers modeled after the Fender Stratocaster.

One great thing about Rockband is that it truly is a game that everyone can play together. All players can choose their own individual level of difficulty. One player can play the lead guitar on difficult mode, while another sings on medium mode and a third plays the drums on easy mode. If one of the players is experiencing difficulty, and is failing, the other members have the ability to "bring them back". This really makes it fun for everyone playing the game.

When you are purchasing Rock band, you have to be careful and pay attention to what you are getting. Peripherals are sold separately, or in bundles. So you can buy all of the equipment for one price, or buy pieces individually.

The Wii Rockband game includes songs by bands like: Aerosmith, Kiss, Molly Hatchet, the Rolling Stones, as well as many more. You also have the ability to download more songs online later.

If you enjoy rock music and gaming, then the Nintendo Wii Rock Band could prove to be a game your whole family can enjoy. - 16887
