How To Farm Gold In World of Warcraft

By Joanne Keith

There are many ways to farm gold in World of Warcraft, but many people still find it hard to earn enough and are more inclined to buy gold in the real world. Admittedly, farming fold is a gaming skill that comes with experience and learning. I do not buy gold, but I did spend quite some time in advancing gold making skills in my first year and I managed to make quite a few characters across different servers. I was even able to trade epic flyers for five characters just in my year one.

As a new player, you can start farming some gold by collecting just any items from the game. Things from mining, skinning, fishing, cooking mats to cloth can all be sold for quite some gold in the Auction House.

Here are some tips you can follow to farm gold.

1. Invest about half an hour a day in gathering mats. In the long run, that will accumulate to a big amount and you can sell those for many gold at the Auction House. As more and more people have moved to Northend, the supply of Northend mats is getting higher. However, you can get mats in Outland and even in Pre B.C. to avoid those competition.

2. Reverse engine and find out items with less competition in the Auction House, and then go about farm them.

3. It is always a good idea to farm for items that are easy to get and easy to sell. For instance, it is not hard to fish for deviate fish in the Barrens and they can sell for any where between 10 to 20 gold per stack. For about 30 minutes, you should be able to get around 2 stacks of them.

4. Remember, price fluctuation for a particular item is only normal and never get panic when you find the price of an item you have on hand drop. What you can do is just to wait for a few days, and chances are the price will go up again.

5. Keep yourself updated on the average selling price of different items at the Auction House by visiting sites like Thott or Wowhead. That way, you will never under-price your item an may even be able to spot opportunities for arbitraging.

The tips contained in this article my seem basic and boring, but don't under-estimate their effectiveness. In case you are just starting out, avoiding shortcuts will only help you in the long run. Advanced techniques can be learned as you move on. - 16887
