The first tip is to go directly to the hotel's website. You can sign up for a mailing list or a guest book on each of them. They will usually send you deals on the rooms and you can get a cheap room directly from the hotel.

The best thing you can do is plan your trip during the week. Most of the large name hotels give away rooms during the week, but double the price or more on the weekends. I suggest that you go on a Tuesday and check out on Friday. You can always find the best deals on the rooms at this time. I also suggest you look at an Airline called Allegiant Air. If you are near an airport that they fly out of they can get you to Vegas for cheap.

Websites out there that offer cheap hotels or discount hotels are the easiest way to find good deals. The rooms that are offered here are usually the same rooms you can get directly from the hotel. The only difference is the hotel acts as a wholesale supplier to these websites. They sell in bulk to the website and then the website marks up the price and resells to the consumer. The margin for the business is the difference between the hotel's price to the business and the price they sell to you. You can usually get discounted and cheap hotels through these websites, and if you find a lower rate most of them have a price match guarantee.

There are so many places to stay that I can't even begin to say which is better. My preference is to stay center strip. I never recommend the Stratosphere simply because it is in very North Las Vegas and is far away from everything. It is cheap, however. I like to stay center strip and there are many hotels at good rates there. There is the Paris, The Flamingo and Bally's. They are all decent hotels but have different price rates. The cheapest nice hotel I could recommend is the Flamingo. There is also Bill's Gamblin Hall & Saloon which is in prime location, but has received some bad reviews. I am curious to see if it is really that bad, however, since it is a Harrah's property.

A trip to Las Vegas will be sure to make memories that last a lifetime. It is also not as expensive as you would think. Instead of shopping around, I always say make a commitment, book, and then shop. You can always get the place where you booked to match a lower rate if you find one. They will usually do this up until the time of check-in and sometimes even after that. If you don't book something the rates will continue to go up as supply goes down. Book a discount or cheap hotel room right away, then keep your eye out for drops in the price level so you can have your agent match it. - 16887
