Arthroscopy of the Knee

By Dr. Richard Edelson

Arthroscopy: Latin: arthro - joint, scopy - view. To use arthroscopy is literally, to view the interior of a joint. Using this technique, an orthopedic surgeon can get a clear view of the interior of a damaged or diseased joint and determine what needs to be done and how to do it. This tool greatly simplifies and improves the options for treatment of damaged and diseased knees.

Modern arthroscopes and high resolution cameras make arthroscopy a very effective procedure for accurate diagnosis and correct treatment of knee disorders.

The Structure of the Knee

The knee is made up of three bones: The patella, the tibia, and the femur. The juncture of these bones is cushioned by articular cartilage, which allows them to move easily.

Synovial membrane is a thin, smooth membrane that coats the interior surfaces of the knee. In a healthy knee, the synovial membrane produces a lubricant that allows the knee to function comfortably and smoothly.

The knee is a large joint - the largest in the body, in fact. It is in almost constant use in every day activities. The lower end of the thigh bone - the femur - rotates on the upper end of the shin bone - the tibia. The kneecap - patella - slides along a groove on the end of the femur. The knee gets stability from large ligaments that connect the tibia and the femur, and strength from the large muscle of the thigh.

Problems With the Knees

Properly functioning knees operate smoothly; however, most knees wear out eventually. The knee is in almost constant use in most of the activities of daily living. Over time sports, injuries, weakening tissues, work, aging and arthritis begin to wear the knee down. When this happens, the result is loss of function along with a fair measure of pain.

With arthroscopy, a number of conditions can be diagnosed and treated:

Chondromalacia, which is the softening of articular cartilage and/or damage to joint surfaces.

Crystalline arthropathy, is characterized by gouty arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and/or inflamed synovial membranes.

Patellar instability and misalignment.

Arthroscopy can locate these problems.

Damaged meniscal cartilage.

Loose and fragmented cartilage and bone.

Posterior and anterior damaged cruciate ligaments can be diagnosed.

Arthroscopy is extremely useful to the orthopedic surgeon in locating and assessing all of these knee problems. The use of the modern technology helps todays orthopedic surgeon deliver efficient and effective treatment. - 16887

Drivers are So Easy to Hit

By David Samson

As the golf game evolves, so do golf club manufacturers. These days, there are so many different companies making clubs and they all make many different models. How are people supposed to find the right ones?

Every company has their own technology which is different than others. Read more to find out about the popular club manufacturers.

Cobra Golf may not be the most popular manufacturer out there but it makes a great driver called the Cobra S9-1. Having a street price of $300, it's not the most expensive driver but it delivers real results. In fact, this driver won the Hot List 2009 gold award for drivers under $300.

Adams Golf sponsors Tom Watson and is known with its amazing hybrid technology. The Adams Speedline though is its great new driver that has captured the hearts of many, including the Hot List 2009 as it won gold. The rounded sole takes getting used to because it might rock back and forth at address off the tee but once you get used to it, expect to hit it looooong.

Callaway Golf is really pushing the envelope with its high end drivers (all its 2009 models are over $350 a piece). They made two drivers. One with a more traditional shape (FT-9) and one a square shape (FT-IQ). Both are amazingly long and Phil is already using the FT-9. He's not trying crazy things like two drivers though anymore but who knows as he might use the drivers to chip.

When the world's most dominant player plays those clubs, who doesn't want to own them? Tiger Woods plays Nike's equipment, and so should you. Tiger personally designed some of the club and balls characteristics for use.

Lynx is mainly a second rated customs component manufacturer and their fairway wood heads aren't considered that great. However, the price point is good and if you think that shafts are all that matter, this may be a good choice as well.

Adams may be the pioneer in hybrids but their marketing is totally taken over by the other major brands. I have no idea what fairway woods they make so I naturally think they aren't that great. - 16887

The Coolest Mens Hairstyles - Guide To Mens Hair Cuts

By Toni Moretti

Men can choose from many hairstyles. Aside from those that has been famous for some time, some hairstyles will work better for others, for the reason that people have different shape faces and lifestyle. Therefore, here are a few hairstyles that men can take into consideration.

The Buzz cut The buzz cut is really the most uncomplicated cut without a doubt; this cut is a simple selection that will definitely go well in making a man?s jaw line appear a lot stronger. In addition to that, you can hide the receding hairlines and even those unwanted bald spots..

A hairstyle that is best for men that have a round or oblong face, and will add up a classy, organized confident and in charge persona.

The Long and layered This is a hairstyle that has a messy but structured appearance, along with a heavy top-layered look, which makes it a hairstyle free of maintenance. The great beauty of the long and layered hairstyle is the assumed look that you have not put any effort with it.

This hairstyle will suit men that have square, oblong and rectangular faces. You can be the next Johnny Depp with this look, creative, down to earth and definitely trendy.

The Textured bed head A hairstyle that was trended by David Beckham, with that delicately tousled look, which had begun from a simple and clean man?s haircut. The sides and the back are shorter, while the left is longer at the top. A hairstyle that is in fact simple and stylish, all you need is pomade; add your careful flow and volume your hair to the top and you have it!

The square faced men have the blessing of wearing this hairstyle best. Trendy yet somehow refined, and even if it is, a hairstyle that is a bit rebellious but it still is classy.

The Curls The curls are a hairstyle that is being embraced for quite some time now, especially for men who naturally have curly hair. Before men who had curly hair did whatever they can to straighten out their hair, but now they have learned not to fight against their curls but instead to go along with it. There are long and disheveled cuts for those who have the bigger, looser curls, and for those who have short, they can try the one length tidy cut for tighter and smaller curls. You can apply some texture cream, pomade or mousse if you are ready to go. Any type of face shape can pull the curls hairstyle, but it will depend upon the size of your curls, and if it will be proportional to your facial features.

These days, there are a lot of hairstyles to choose from, and what is good about men?s hairstyles is that it will always evolve, and would be a revolution, so it is rather safe to expect that you can keep the hairstyle you have chosen for as long as you like. - 16887

An Intro - How To Download Movies To PS3

By Dana Goldberg

In the past few years, downloading PS3 movies have grown in popularity than even before, having broadened beyond movies and music to include games from almost any game platform you can imagine from the Commodore 64 to the PS3.

A German bandwidth management solution, Ipoque, published a study in February of 2009 that found in 2008, 27-55% of all internet traffic, depending on where the user is living, is made up of people uploading and downloading torrents, files uploaded to the internet available for mostly free downloads, via peer to peer networks. As you can see: Ps3 downloads are really popular!

With this increase in the amount of downloads occurring, the amount of problems encountered such as viruses, malicious code, horrible download speeds, and other issues experienced conversely rise. So be careful when downloading PS3 movies! A popular issue that many encounter are long download times that are often attributed to user ran sites where not everyone participates in sharing the file with others after they have downloaded it, leading to swarms of downloaders.

A lot of users feel safe and anonymous while downloading PS3 movies. However, they do not understand the fact that whenever they download a file using a peer to peer network, which is most popular way to download files, they place their exact IP address viewable to all persons who upload or download that file. This particular huge risk is overlooked by most of the people, and they feel as if they have total anonymity while on the internet. There are some sites and individuals who know ways to exploit file sharers and will readily take advantage of their knowledge.

Many users feel safe and anonymous while downloading PS3 movies and are jaded to the fact that each time you download a file using a peer to peer network, the most popular way to download files, you place your exact IP address viewable to all persons who are uploading or downloading that file. This huge security risk is often over looked by many people and they continue to feel they have total anonymity while on the internet. Some sites and individuals know a few of the many ways to exploit file sharers and will readily take advantage of this knowledge.

This would definitely be enough information to prove that downloading PS3 movies should be done with great precaution. Using a reliable site to download the PS3 movies would be the best choice. - 16887

Perspective In Photography - Advanced Tips

By Lucas Godfrey

Our eyes are capable of determining the depth and perspective of scenes before us, such as never-ending tunnels and rolling mountains in the distance. However, the camera needs a helping hand to transform what would be a flat photograph into the depth-filled image we see before us. If your scene would benefit from a bit of oomph in the depth department, then this can be controlled with a carefully considered choice of lens coupled with a decent viewpoint.

To exaggerate the effect of distance in a tunnel of a long straight road, you need to emphasis the converging verticals ? a term referring to appearance of the scene squeezing to a point in the distance. Do this by using a wide-angle lens, which will exaggerate the width at the start of the scene and the narrowness at the back.

Position yourself centrally so the converging lines look longer and even consider giving the camera a slight upward tilt to really maximize the sense of distance between the beginning and the end of the scene.

Just as lines are important to perspective, they also play a vital role in other aspects of photography too. The term ?leading lines? is frequently thrown around in photography and refers to structural elements in a photograph that lead the viewer?s eye into the picture.

The most obvious line used in photography is that of the horizon ? a perfectly straight line by which everything else is arranged around. Just think how obvious it is when a scene has a skewed horizon ? it?s the epitome of distraction and a serious schoolboy error, which separates the amateurs from anyone more serious about photography.

There are plenty of man-made lines to think about too including buildings, power lines, cranes, vehicles and structures. Think about how lines feature in your scene and where they are leading. Are they a main feature of the scene? Are they leading your viewer into the scene or are they causing a distraction to the main event? Consider your viewpoint and perspective to establish how you can make lines work well in the scene.

For example, certain lines impart different qualities. A diagonal can give the impression of speed, curves can have a calming influence and angular lines often impart a sense of discord.

Fine art photography relies on the soft curves of the body to achieve a calming natural flow throughout the image. A racing car?s speed can be accelerated by capturing it on a diagonal or a slight tilt, while an abstract image is given energy and dynamism by accentuating its angles and edges. Pick a theme you want to emphasize and use the available lines to your advantage.

To take an image that really appreciates form, look out for areas of shading within your subject. The greater degree of shading and number of tones there are, the more pleasing the subject. Position yourself to capture as many shades as possible.

Hopefully these pointers will help you consider the scene and its outcome before you press the shutter. - 16887

Your Ultimate Beach Holiday

By Damian Papworth

I had to get up early this morning and get down to Coolangatta Beach. One of my surfboard hire clients was checking out early and needed 1 minimal and 1 short board picked up before they left. So up I got, arriving in Cooly before 7am.

On the Australian Gold Coast, Coolangatta is roughly a 30 minute drive headed south out of Surfer's Paradise, both places being world-renowned thanks to the impressive surf conditions they present. Surfer's Paradise, located at the northern tip really does have some of the most spectacular of the Goldy's beach breaks thanks to the shifting sand-based ocean floor, which gives a lot of swell.

Coolangatta on the other hand is at the south end of the Goldy is more famous for the world class point breaks of Snapper Rocks, Greenmount and Kirra. These points, though not able to pick up as much swell as the northern beaches, definitely host the best waves of the area. On their given day, the waves can bend endlessly around the points. A surfer can kick off a wave due to fatigue rather than the wave ending.

Not this morning though. This morning on arrival, the waves were less than a foot, clean as they get though with no wind to speak of. Having picked up the rented surfboard, I decided to have breakfast at a lovely little cafe on the beach front and see what happens at our beaches when there is no surf.

Shortly into this observational activity it dawned on me just why the Gold Coast, in Queensland state in the north of the country, is one of the hottest beach destinations in the world. At this early hour the activity on the beach front was already moving at a good pace with plenty of folks out enjoying the conditions: of course, with the water at 24 and the air at 26 they didn't need much cajoling. In such conditions, who wouldn't want to be hitting the beach for the day?!

A few Polynesian-style surfers are out on the water--the stand-up paddling kind--with some longboarders, too. Folks are already taking a dip close to shore between the flag markers, catching tiny breakers that wash right up to the beach.

Coolangatta is graced with an impressive 50 meters of perfectly golden sand as the average beach width, the perfect scenario for the many women working on their tans in their bikinis (even at a little past 7 in the morning!). Comically, I find that the ones out tanning so early are usually the ones wrapping up their vacation, desperate to reach that next shade of bronze before going back to the office job at home.

Other morning activities to be observed are being carried out by the several groups of folks enjoying the running and bike paths that are neatly cut out of the park pastures, where health-conscious people do exercise routines. Also, many simply stop for a minute to observe the whales way out in the ocean splashing and frolicking along their migration route.

I observe this all from a chic little cafe, where a pretty waitress serves me my latte and eggs benedict. As a local, sometimes it is time well spent just to sit back, recognize and soak up the things that so many other people travel the world to come here and enjoy. I hope you manage to share the beauty of our home one day too. Life really doesn't get much better than this. - 16887

A Amateur's Guide For Gambling On Craps Online

By Simon M Skinner

If you're new to online casino gambling, you may want to try playing craps. This game can be quite confusing for novice gamblers, however. The betting strategies can be complicated and complex and there is a lot of money at stake, so the risks are high. This game is the same online as it is in a live casino. However, with a free online casino, you may have the option to play for free with imaginary money instead of betting your hard-earned cash. Or you could participate in a freeroll game.

Since learning even just the basics is difficult, this article will only focus on those basics. Later, after you've become a pro with these simple strategies, then you may want to learn more about some of the more complex betting strategies. You may also want to try out those advanced techniques at that time using free play money at a free online casino.

If you were playing craps in a real physical casino, you'd notice this game involves a shooter and four individual dealers to play and it moves really fast. Online casino gambling, however, allows the shooter to move around the table. Also, the computer generates the payouts and collecting winnings and losses.

The basic bet in craps is called the "pass line." Alternatively, you can choose the "don't pass" line-and that means you're betting against the people who are betting on the "pass line" bet. The first roll is called a "come out" roll. That roll sets the number the shooter wants to roll again before "crapping" out with a 7 on the dice. When the "come out" roll is being tossed, a black "off" marker is shown. If an 11 or a 7 is rolled on the dice during the "come out" roll, you'll win even money. After that you don't want to roll a 7 until after you roll the same number as is on the "point" or "come out" roll.

On the come out roll, if you roll a 2, 3 or 12, which is called "craps", you lose. If you roll 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10, that is your point that you have to roll again before the 7. So, the game starts with you using the "pass line" to place your bet, betting on hitting the point before hitting a 7. If you use the "don't pass" line, it means you are betting that a 7 will hit before hitting the point number.

For instance:

The game starts with the dealer placing the black "off" marker down and everyone placing a bet. The shooter shakes and rolls the "come out" dice. It rolls a 7. Everybody wins-unless they were betting on the "don't pass" line. Those people lose.

Now it's a new round and the dealer puts the black "off" marker out again. People place bets. But in this case the shooter rolls a 5 on the dice for the "come out." The dealer will then flip over the black "off" marker so it shows the white "on" side and he'll put it by the 5 on the board. The shooter rolls several times and finally succeeds in rolling a 5 on the dice without getting a 7. Again, everyone wins-unless they bet on the "don't pass."

This time, the process starts over and the shooter rolls a 6. The white "on" marker goes on the 6, but the shooter rolls several times and finally rolls a 7, with no 6 coming up first. Everybody loses except for the bettors on the "don't pass" line and they win.

You can start betting different "odds" as you learn the basics, but online casino gambling at a free online casino is a good way to learn the game, before you get too complicated with your betting by learning "odds" betting. - 16887

The Beginner's Manual To Online Casinos

By Simon M Skinner

There are many websites that offer online casino gambling. Most people play on free online casino websites. The basic characteristics are similar no matter what free online casino websites you play on.

There are a few rules that may differ for US players because of United States Internet gaming laws for online casino gambling. Some jurisdictions don't allow cash deposits or payouts to United States players, so you will need to check each free online casino. On the other hand, there are some international websites that allow US players to play for money, which can be an important detail to those that want to play for more than fun.

To get started playing at a free online casino, you will need to load the casino's software package on your personal computer and then create an account. Although you may wish to play just for entertainment-without using actual money-you will still need to set up a player nickname and provide your real name and address to register. Then you will log in using your nickname.

If you decide you want to play with and for real money, you will be asked to fund your free online casino account by depositing money into the account via an echeck, debit card, or wire transfer. Some of the sites accept credit cards, but some of the credit card providers do not authorize deposits into online casino accounts and will decline the transaction, so this may or may not be an option for you.

You can also play with imaginary money-or play money, as it's called. At the free online casino gambling sites that utilize this, you generally get a set amount to use each day. For instance, you could have $1,000 to play with each day. Once you lose all of your money, you may have to wait until tomorrow to get more imaginary money to play with. Read the rules for each site to find out their policy. There is also something called a freeroll tournament you could play in on some sites. These don't require any money to play, but you can actually win real prizes or money.

Online casino gambling games are pretty much the same as the games you will find in a physical casino. For instance, you can play roulette, the slots, cards, or roll the dice. Again, you can usually play with and for real cash or use play money. The games may vary as to how much you need to bet for each one and you can play some for less than $1.

Like real gambling at a live casino, you need to know how the game is played and what you're betting before you jump in. So take advantage of some of the online training materials like tutorials, help screens, or research on the Internet to be sure you are comfortable with the game before you gamble with anything other than play money. This could save you some expensive mistakes.

The online casino gambling has taken off in the last few years because of the popularity of Texas Hold'em, which almost all of the free online casino websites offer. This game is fairly easy to learn, and it is also the reason that many try online casino gambling. Whatever your favorite game or reason for sign up for a free online casino, you will have hours of entertainment for free, or you can try your hand at winning some money and becoming the next poker star. - 16887

Those of us who want to impress someone next week at a class meeting, a wedding or other event must be aware that a fast weight loss diet is not the best thing possible, as it is unhealthy.

Any diet that deprives you of nutrient that you need, are not worth the try. Diets that concentrate on grapefruit or cabbage soup, do not provide your body with the nutrients that is need. Fasting also is a bad way to lose weight, since you are likely to back on the weight that you lose, plus more.

If you loose weight quickly, meaning more than 1-2 kg per week, you'll loose much of muscle mass along with fat. This is very harmful because muscles are an active tissue, as their functions are essential for a healthy metabolism. By loosing muscle mass, you'll get a slower metabolism and you'll have to eat increasingly less food in order to lose weight. If you still continue to lose weight too fast in the next days, the body will "think" that he's threaten and will try to survive, developing deposits of fat.

Because you want to eat more, your mind will make you believe that you're even hungrier; thus, the weight loss diet will become harder to follow.

Again, finding the right program for you is essential to help you to shed pounds. Diet programs are a combination of the things discussed. Many of them will work to customize the programs according to you. Finding something that fits your lifestyle will increase your chances for success.

Remember, you don't need a miracle; just mental clarity and a solid plan of action. - 16887

New England Patriots 50 Year Flashback

By Max McLellan

It's been 50 years since the New England Patriots entered the NFL, and what a storied 50 years they've been. My next five articles will be about the history of the New England Patriots, each of them covering a ten year period in the team's history. We'll now look at the origins of the team and their first ten years.

In late 1959, the Boston Patriots came to life. The franchise was founded by Billy Sullivan Jr., who decided that it'd be fun to let the media select the team's name. It was decided that the team would be called the Patriots, and with a name and logo in hand, it was time to find a coach and a stadium.

The team decided to go with Lou Saban as its first ever coach, and hired him for the 1960 football season. As far as a stadium goes, it was Boston University's Nickerson Field, and the team played its first game in franchise history against the Denver Broncos in 1960. The Pats lost this game 13-10, and finished last in their division that season.

The next season didn't have a great start, as the team lost 3 of its first 5 games. Management decided to fire Saban and Mike Holovak came in. This was a great move for the team, who finished the season with 9 wins, 4 losses, and one tie. The team had the same record in 1962.

In 1963, the Patriots shacked up with the Red Sox at historic Fenway Park. The Patriots ended up winning the AFL Eastern Division while posting a modest 7-6-1. They made the franchises first playoff appearance by defeating the Buffalo Bills 26-8. They went on to the next round but got throttled by the San Diego Chargers 51-10.

Holovak's success continued in 1964 and 1966, where Holovak won coach of the year in both seasons. The team regressed during the later part of the decade, though, and Holovak was replaced by Clive Rush in 1969, who didn't fare much better for the Patriots.

As the 1960s ended, so did the AFL, as it became a part of the NFL at the end of the decade. New England became a part of the AFC, and has found its home there ever since. The 1960s can be seen as one of mild success for the Pats, though a relatively inconsistent one.

The team was fortunate enough to produce some great players during the decade, including two (Gino Cappelletti and Jim Nance) who made it to the hall of fame, not to mention Nick Buoniconti and Babe Parilli. Boston fans took a liking to these players and developed a rapport between the fans and their team base. This laid the groundwork for the 70s: a new decade with some new stories to tell. - 16887

Spectacular Views Await On The Bike Trails In Idaho

By Pat J Walker

There are over 19,000 miles of bike trails in the state of Idaho. In an area thats known for its mountains and rivers, you can expect some spectacular riding! Because of harder winters and wet springs, the best time to ride is usually summer or early fall. Here are a variety of trails that Idaho has to offer for riders of every skill level.

The Mink Creek Recreation Area near Pocatello has an 11-mile loop called the Valve or Pump House trail. This is a great place for beginners to hone their skills. Theres nothing too technical here, but it will test your endurance. Bring plenty of water.

Elk Mountain near Stanley is a great ride and view of the Saw Tooth Mountains. It is a 12-mile loop that starts out with an easy climb and then rocky descent to Elk Meadows. There are a few stream crossings, but nothing too overtly difficult. Youll enjoy some great scenery all along the ride!

For more fantastic scenery, try the 12 miles of trail by McCall at Goose Creek Falls. This trail, too, involves crossing the creek a few times-via log crossings, on foot, or by bridge-but those are the only significant challenges, so it's great for beginning riders. Camping is available nearby, too. But the biggest reward is the view of the 45-foot waterfall you'll encounter on this route.

For an entire network of bike trails, check out the Schweitzer Mountain Resort. Most of the 25 miles of biking trails are more suited to advanced and intermediate riders here, though. The route includes bridges, turns, berms, and a steep, tricky descent.

If speed is more your style, head over toward Ketchum to the Bald Mountain Downhill trail. You can climb the hill yourself and tackle this 10-mile loop, but with an elevation gain somewhere between 3,000 and 4,000 feet, you may just want to opt for the $15 chairlift ride to the top. Coming down is an incredible rush! Don't try this one without a full suspension bike, and you'd better plan ahead by packing extra tubes and a repair kit, because you never know when you're going to need them. This trail is also open to hikers, and due to the speed, you should be extra cautious when navigating this trail.

If you're planning to bike in the late summer or early fall-during the dry season-check out the nearly 19-mile route by McCall called the Bear Pete Trail. Don't even attempt it during the wet season! As it is, during the dry time there is still a boggy area, but if it's during the wet season, you won't even be able to get through. This is another tough trail best left to more experienced riders, but it's also a fantastic ride with incredible views. Following a steep incline and difficult climb, you'll get a view that lets you see clear to the Saw Tooth Mountains and Oregon. And there's a hot springs resort at the conclusion of the ride!

Idaho is primarily mountainous, which means that for every mountain there is probably a valley and river, and maybe even a waterfall. This kind of environment is perfect for the adventurous rider. Enjoy this rugged state in all its natural beauty and have a spectacular time riding while you do! - 16887

Give Crede the Gold Glove

By Remy Marramores

Joe Credeleads the American League in FPCT and errors (not made). However, while these are not stats that many put much faith in, they are a stat which tell a great deal about Crede's value. However, a newer stat, one now used by the voters in determining the ultimate winner of the Gold Glove, has come out. The UZR, Ultimate Zone Rating, a method of determining a players arm and range, ranks Crede at the top of the league among all 3B.

Crede is a very valuable Minnesota Twin offensively. Relative to where he hits in the order, his numbers are solid to the point where any team would be happy to have such numbers later in the lineup. His fielding has been better though.

The UZR/150 is the average number of runs saved over the course of 150 defensive games. As can be seen, Crede sits between 25-30 runs saved per 150 defensive games. The next highest run saver,Adrian Beltre, is between 15-20 runs saved per 150 games. Thus, Crede saves about 10 runs more per 150 games than Beltre, one of the premier defensive 3B in baseball.

This raises the question: Are we, as bloggers, taking Crede's defense for granted? Do we realize just how valuable Joe Crede is to this team?

In conclusion, Crede has benefited this team in so many ways. Crede has provided power in 14 HR to the middle-bottom of the order...Crede has the highest fielding percentage in the american league (.985) with only 3 errors committed. Crede ranks at the top of all third baseman in UZR and UZR/150 saving an average of 25-30 runs.

There's no question that Crede should win the gold glove at third base this season, in my opinion. Looking at the stats, he dominates his competition in UZR, fielding percentage, and errors. I don't see why he wouldn't.

Unfortunately, the Twins get little respect when it comes down to voting. Look at snubs like Luis Castillo, Justin Morneau, and Joe Mauer, all of whom deserved Gold Gloves and never got them.

The Gold Glove voters are biased, as are the All-Star voters. This would also explain whyCarlos Gomezdid not win a Gold Glove last year, despite being the best defensive CF in the Major League Baseball - along withGrady Sizemore. - 16887

Great Places to Ride Your Bike in The First State

By Patricia J Williams

Even though Delaware is the second smallest state in the union, there is some great biking to experience here. Most of the state is rolling terrain, so dont expect a lot of mountainous climbs, but there is still plenty to challenge and interest you regardless of your experience level.

Biking as a family with bikers of various experience levels? Head down toward Glasgow to the 10-mile loop called Lums Pond. Everyone will enjoy the rolling hills and pleasant ride and you can take a side trip onto an unpaved route near the creek for added adventure. Don't plan to ride after a heavy rain, though, because the trails get muddy and slippery. Pack the insect spray and be alert for hikers and horses and riders-then plan to have fun!

Right beside Brandywine Creek State Park, you can find a privately owned 10-mile area of trails near Wilmington. It's called the Woodlawn Trustees and was created by the area residents. This is a really pleasant ride with lots of fields, trees, and scenery, and since it's right beside the state park, you can continue on into the park and keep riding if you wish.

Within Brandywine Creek State Park, there are lots of different trails, but not all are designated for biking. On your way in, get a map from the park office so you can stick to the bike trails because otherwise you could get a fine or even have your bike confiscated. Again, these trails can be slippery when they are wet and muddy, so use caution or postpone your ride until the trails dry up. Or stick to the trails with a foundation of wood chips. The wood chips can make things a little challenging, but the steep uphill inclines, fallen logs, rocky terrain in some areas, and one very lengthy rough descent are what more advanced riders dream of!

Middle Run Park in Newark was built by locals. There are many looping trails that can be connected or ridden separately. There arent any hills, but because its so flat, you can really build up a lot of speed. There are some technical areas with roots and rocks, logs, and creek crossings so dont be fooled into thinking that it will be easy. The trails are well-marked but can be confused with nearby White Clay Creek (see below). There may be a fee to ride here during the summer.

Also in Newark, you'll find one of the best technical trails for advanced riders anywhere along the entire East coast of our nation. Not far from the university, White Clay Creek features a 10-mile network of complex trails with steep drops and skinnies, rapid downhill descents, teeter-totter bridges, and fallen logs. These exciting trails are always being updated and maintained, and they're worth a special trip to Delaware!

So Delaware doesn't have any mountains. It does have beautiful parks, forests, rivers, and bridges-and the scenery is still awesome. So if you're headed to Delaware, don't forget to bring your bike and gear! - 16887

What Makes A Poker Tournament A GOOD Poker Tournament?

By Sean Pratch

Most poker tournaments will advertise what the starting chip stacks are. They will announce a tournament with 5,000 chips, 10,000 chips, or more. That sounds good but may not be a little bit of "too good to be true." Having a seemingly large starting stack is attractive to many tournament poker players.

This is a very common mistake made by poker tournament players. The problem is that there are no rules about what a starting stack should be and there are no rules regarding the starting blinds or even the blind structure. A poker tournament that starts with 10,000 chips may have starting blinds that are 25/50, which would make it very deep-stacked, or it could have starting blinds of 100/200, which is relatively short-stacked.

Short-stack tournaments may attract some poker players. Tournaments like this can be an opportunity to be aggressive and take advantage of small edges. The reality is that most poker players are more comfortable in a tournament where they have a deep stack. Consideration of the starting blinds and the blind structure is very important when deciding on a poker tournament to play in.

Typically, the lower the buy-in of the poker tournament, the smaller the starting stacks will be. A $40 daily tournament at a casino will usually be very short-stacked with a fast blind structure compared with a $500+ main event poker tournament. The reason is that the casino wants to make as much money as quick as possible. They are not making much money with a $40 tournament so they want it end quickly.

Besides the starting blind level, you must also consider the blind structure. If the starting blinds make it appear to be a deep-stack tournament it may have a blind structure where the blinds double every round and the rounds are only 15 minutes long. While the players may start with a relative deep stack, they will quickly be short-stacked with a structure like that.

The next time you consider a tournament make sure you get as much information about the tournament so you can make a fully informed decision. The important facts to know are starting chip stacks, the starting blind level, and the blind structure. There are other considerations to take into account, such as number of players, the vig that the casino takes, and the payout, but for now just make sure that the poker tournament structure is one that you are most comfortable to play in. - 16887

Child Photography Tips That Make Sense

By Dan Feildman

So you love children you say. You also love taking pictures. You would be thrilled if you could incorporate your love of both children and photography into a rewarding, money-making business. Well, it is possible and you can make money and be rewarded all at the same time! Keep in mind that photographing children (especially those at a young age) is no easy task. If you don't love kids, they're going to know the minute you point the camera at them making it almost impossible to get that "perfect shot.

Tips for Capturing Children on Film: You may think you know it all when it comes to taking pictures, but all of that may go out the window when photographing children. Using the typical vocabulary that is called for in standard photo shoots (like "freeze and "hold it) will only get lost on a child. Anticipation is key for you to predict a child's actions and capture them on film.

Photographing children takes a special skill, as most children (depending on age) will not always do what you ask of them. As a photographer, you need to know and understand that children will not always be cooperative just because they are going to have their picture taken. Photographing children may require a great deal of imagination on your part to get them to do what you need in order to capture a great picture. Sometimes, you may have to trick them into doing what you want them to do. Use whatever means necessary to get the shots you need.

Before booking photography sessions with children, you need to know both your camera equipment inside and out and what your own capabilities are in being able to get the best possible pictures. When photographing children, 100% of your focus is needed; there is no time to figure out the best lighting or what your camera can and can't do. Children's level of focus in a photography session can be limited at best thus you need to take complete advantage of the time you have to get their undivided attention to get the pictures you need. Rushing a child into what you want is also not the best approach. Getting their cooperation is key and that is best achieved when all attention is directed towards them.

Know your subjects - With children, you must expect the unexpected. At different ages children are capable of doing different things. The more you know what they typically do during some of these stages, the better images you are going to capture. And the happier you make your clients - which, in turn, makes you financially happy.

Unlike most other fields in photography, when taking pictures of children, you can expect to obtain a wide variety of poses, expressions, and behaviour during the session. Be aware of different age groups: a 4-month-old baby will act differently that a 14-month-old one will. Learn how children of different ages respond. The more equipped you are to handle children of varying ages, the better pictures you will get.

While you may not appreciate having a child's parents in the studio (or location of the shoot), they can turn out to be extremely helpful in assisting you in capturing the types of photographs they are looking for. Parents will be able to tell you what to do [or not do] to get their child's attention and keep it. All of this knowledge can come in very handy given children are not very capable of sitting still for any great length of time.

Above all else, get your camera ready to go - second chances to capture an impromptu moment don't come around very often (if at all) when photographing children.

Forget about the use of a tripod in a photo session with a child- it will only get in the way especially as things start to happen quickly. Make sure your camera is on a fast shutter speed (to prevent blurring) at all times; you never know what a child is going to do next and you must be ready to capture it no matter what.

Child photography allows for close-up portraits as well as the child engaged in some activity - taking their socks off - in a box / tub with toys - climbing on or out of something. There is really no limit. As you continue to gain experience in working with children of various ages you will become more adept at learning what typically works with different age groups.

Child photography is a challenge - but don't worry sometime it turns into children photography. Mom has twins - big brother / little sister - maybe three little cousins. The list goes on! Imagine two sister and they both have triplets! Other than the obvious difficulty of getting multiple little subjects in any semblance of position, conducive to a memorable photo you need to bring everyone?s eyes to a central focal point. Tricky, but not impossible. Adding something NEW to catch their attention, at the moment you press the shutter, can work. Use this sparingly, because when child photography turns into children photography getting all their attention on the same thing is quite a feat. The beauty of digital is no limits to the exposures you take and you can take a quick peek on the spot.

Parents can be quite helpful during the photo session. Children often are more confident with a parent nearby. Also, do not overlook the value of older brother and sisters. They have a relationship with the little one like no one else! Often they can get their little brother or sister to giggle, make faces, hold things and a host of other things that may be exactly what you need. Plus, you have the opportunity of including more subjects in the photos, which translates into a larger photo package for the customer!

Parents and older brothers and sisters can can be of great assistance in a photo session with children. Children more often than not feel more comfortable when a parent and/or sibling is nearby. Siblings can often entice a child to laugh or make a face, enabling you to capture a better picture. In addition, parents may decide they want to include the sibling (or siblings) in the pictures ultimately allowing you to increase the photo package for the client. Tips for capturing children on film:

Lighting and backdrops can be particularly useful when photographing children. The more experienced you become, the more comfortable you will feel in introducing these elements into the photography session with a child. Even is not using these tools, you can still take quality photographs nonetheless. You can always experiment, though a three-light set-up (consisting of a main light and back light) are ideal.

Continue to use your creativity to its capacity when it comes to photographing children: don't stay in the studio unless you are required to. Try out different venues particularly outside. If you do, you won't have to worry about lighting- nature will provide it all for you. Think about what makes a child happy: toys, stuffed animals, puppets, candy. Use these props to your advantage when photographing children. Make sure to keep these types of things on hand that can be used at any time to capture the child's attention. - 16887

Extending Your Summer with a Caribbean Cruise Vacation

By Ric Henderson

It is hard to believe that August is already here and will be gone before you know it. What that usually means is a sad face as the summer has slipped away and a full winter of work lies ahead. Not so fast my friend, save one of those weeks of vacation that you still have and extend your summer with a Caribbean Cruise Vacation.

There is no arguing the fact that most people are much happier in the summertime. Everyone is more pleasant, we get to go the beach or head out at the pool. When wintertime rolls around, things just seem to change. Instead of getting depressed as the summer drifts away, plan a Caribbean Cruise Vacation and give yourself something to get excited about this winter.

One of the Caribbean Cruise Vacation destinations that you may want to check out is the Western Caribbean. This is probably the most popular of all and that is very easy to understand why with destinations like Mexico, Princess Cays, Cozumel, Jamaica and the Grand Cayman. If you have never taken a cruise, this is a great first choice.

The Eastern Caribbean is another nice cruise to take. The ports of St. Thomas, Puerto Rico and St. Marteen are not only popular ports for cruise ships, but they also are very popular as destination vacations. You can actually combine the two and take a cruise that only stops at one port to have more time to enjoy these beautiful areas.

An area that you may not find people flocking to, but is just as beautiful is the South Caribbean. It is not as popular as some of the other spots, but it is not because it lacks in things to do or beauty. This is the ideal Caribbean Cruise Vacation spot for someone that wants to stay away from the hustle and bustle and really sit back and enjoy what this part of the word has to offer.

As soon as you have your destination picked out, it is really now only a matter of what cruise line and how many days you are going to go for. You can always break up your vacation and take a couple of 4 day cruises instead of one long 8 day cruise. This would really allow you to carry the summer sun into the winter months.

While the short cruises are definitely recommended, you will still want to take at least one long cruise. Being out on the ocean for 7 or more days is something that his hard to describe. You start out with a few days at sea to set the mood and then island hop for a few days and see some of the most majestic beaches and sites in creation. It truly is paradise stuffed into a week.

Dont let the end of August signify the end of your summer. Take a Caribbean Cruise Vacation and end summer when you want it to end, not because the calendar says it has to end. Go from Aruba to St. Marteen and everywhere in between and make that summer last just a few days more. - 16887

Exercise, the Healthy Way to Live

By Stephen Unato

Today, we are living on a world where everyone is busy. So busy that they forget one it means to be healthy and fit. They push their bodies to the limits. They just don't feel it but inside them, their organs are becoming abnormal. And they will be shocked to find that they have all sorts of illnesses, only to find out that their too late.

We are all guilty of these statements. We need to understand what it means to be healthy, or else we will regret whatever will happen to us. We need help, and we need it now. Oh yes we know it but just like we are doing to our body, we do not notice it.

It is I think the most effective way of maintaining your health. It is one thing that is more effective but cheaper than medicine. Though it does not heal you, it just helps you prevent any conditions that may hinder your activities of daily living.

Exercise would be the word I'm referring too, the simplest but the most effective way of maintaining health and staying way from diseases. If allowed to be part of your life, it will really be of great help.

Exercise pumps up our body, it energizes us to be prepared for any activity that we will do. It will also give energy to our immune system so that we will be free from harm.

Financially it will also be useful. When you have regular exercise, you will have a small chance of getting sick, and that would equal to less hospitalization and less medical bills.

Aside from physical benefits, you can also have emotional balance if you have regular exercise. It just makes you feel light. You will feel like you have released all your burdens. And you will, as a result have a beautiful interaction with your family and friends.

Mix it with proper diet and you will have a fantastic existence here on earth. Free from any diseases and at the same time protected from them. Live a healthy life and you will be fruitful. - 16887

Weather Fronts are Created by the Convergence of Temperatures

By Greg Hansward

The sun and atmosphere work together to create different climates. The air masses are moved by the changes in temperature. The disparate temperatures on the Earth's surface are caused by the different proximities of these areas to the sun. The equator is near the sun on the Earth's entire orbit.

This means that the surface on the Earth at the equator is hot, sunny and has many hours of daylight. An example is the warm Alicante weather. The poles are the farthest from the sun and are the coldest and darkest areas of the planet when it is winter and sunny but still cold in what is considered summer there. The farther from the equator you get, the more seasonal the climates become. The climates in the middle of the equators and poles at what are called the middle latitudes are four season climates.

The air moves in masses caused by these irregular heating patterns and the boundaries between them are called fronts. The atmosphere is constantly moving the air around in an attempt to gain equilibrium, or equalized pressure between the warm and cool air. Air that moves also hits stable air and all the molecules mix together. When the cold air moves into warm air, it is called a cold front; a warm front comes from the opposite motion of warm air into cold.

Warm fronts rise above and on top of cold air. As the warm air cools the molecules form water vapor, and become clouds. First are the high cirrus clouds, then come the aptly named mid level followed by thick stratus clouds. Thick stratus clouds are the ones that sometimes cause rain and wind conditions.

When a cold front hits a warm air mass, the result can be more volatile. Convection occurs when the cold front sharply pushes the instable warm air up. These winds create cumulus clouds and these clouds bring the thunderstorms. The upward motion also creates low pressure situations that make the wind blow harder. Along the cold air in front there will be the actual hard rain and sharp wind. The air behind it that has warmed a bit will simply bring rain. If the cold air takes over the warm air slowly, it becomes an occluded front and stratus clouds with light precipitation result. Stationary fronts occur when two very weak fronts meet and neither takes over the other. They simply sit and rain on the area until all of the air warms up or cools down and progresses on as a cold or warm front.

The oceanic regions of the Earth encompass 70% of the surface area. Climates in coastal areas are affected by the temperature of the seas, as saltwater is a very good conductor of both hot and cold temperatures. Great Britain is much warmer than most of the other land in its same latitude because of the warm Gulf Stream. - 16887

With these types of software, a digital image can be touched up for a subtle change, or it can be completely overhauled for totally different photo.

Many of the newer computer programs from Windows have photo editing tools that come standard with the program. Windows XP has the elementary Paint tool and the helpful program called Picture And Fax Viewer. Windows Vista also comes standard with a few updated programs for editing photos, Photo Gallery being the most popular. Photo Gallery allows the user to perform such tasks as adjust the brightness and color of the photos, as well as eliminate red eye.

Although the fore mentioned photo editing programs are sufficient enough to do a good job, there are times when extra editing power is needed. One should then research and purchased software available. Each brand of software offers a unique experience in photo editing features and abilities. One of the most recognizable names in photo editing is Adobe.

The introduction of Adobe Photoshop took digital imaging to a whole new level with features not found on other programs. The most recent version of Photoshop, called Elements 6, has proven to be a very handy tool in photo editing.

New features have been introduced in Photoshop Elements 6 that makes it even easier to use program. Elements 6 offers features such as Before and After, a feature that lets the user see what happens to the image before committing to it. It shows the changes in the photo as it edits it. This helps the user diside the editing needed to get the effect desired.

Another feature added to the software is Photomerge. This feature can combine two images to make one better image. An example would be changing faces in a photo to show a different facial expression. Photomerge will align the faces to best suit the image instantly. Elements 6 has the ease and quality expected from Adobe. - 16887

By Ferdinand Emy

If you have been cogitating buying a boat recently, but have found that a large fishing boat is merely out of your budget, one alternative that you might consider instead is an inflatable boat. Inflatable boats can prove to be great choices when you are riveted in being on the water but your budget is somewhat inadequate.

Once you start shopping around for inflatable boats, you'll discover that there're really many diverse sorts of inflatable boats that you can choose from. The littleest of the inflatable boats is a sort of boat that is known as a float tube. This is an excellent boating option when you are involved in fishing, particularly for fly fishing. Bear in mind that these types of inflatable boats are ideally intended to be used for one person only, so if you like to go out fishing with your buddies, this might not be the best preference.

Another sort of inflatable boat is similar to a kayak or a canoe. Once again, this is a good alternative when you don't wish to expend a lot of money. The key is to make sure that you purchase a extreme quality boat. Be sure to check out the manufacturer and find out what other consumers who have buyd inflatable boats from that manufacturer have to say with reference to the quality of the boat.

Yet another choice worth taking into consideration when you're cogitating purchasing inflatable boats is a pontoon. There are various sizes that you can choose from, from one person versions to much larger versions, so be sure to take into consideration the number of people that you would like to take out fishing with you when you are pondering buying this type of inflatable boat. Careful projection now will permit you to have more enjoyment of your boat later on.

When purchasing inflatable boats its similarly consequential to take into consideration the area where you'll expend most of your time fishing. Always check with the manufacturer's guidelines to establish whether the boat you are purchasing is suitablefor the state s where you'll be doing most of your fishing.

With all things taken into consideration, inflatable boats can be a good choice when you're low on budget but wish to start fishing right away. They may also be a good choice while you're saving up to purchase a larger boat. - 16887

Traeth Bychan Beach, Maritime History and Quiet, Sheltered Anglesey Beach, Great for Dinghy Launch

By David Phillips

Enjoy the small, sheltered and cosy delights of east facing Traeth Bychan beach near Benllech, down a narrow country lane off the A5025. If you want to really appreciate some fine sea and mountain views covering Llanddona, the Carneddau peaks above Bangor, Puffin Island and Liverpool Bay, you must come here.

Traeth Bychan is rocky on each side of the cove, giving way to a mixture of gravelly sand and small pebbles as the beach reaches up to the small stone and concrete boat park. This quiet location is the home of Red Wharf Bay Sailing and Watersports Club, and when we arrived on this occasion there were a number of dinghies and motor craft being towed up from the water, while a fishing boat waited for its trailer to arrive.

As the 4x4 reversed down the small slipway onto the sand, a few keen but tired sailors waded into the water in wetsuit to help align the boat on the trolley. This is quite a good spot to launch a boat, except in a strong easterly gale, given its position relative to the prevailing winds on Anglesey. The dinghy park is home to Mirrors, GP14's, Lasers, Toppers and others.

Above the Traeth Bychan beach are thick grassy slopes which cover some interesting looking rock formations. The Anglesey coastal path runs along here on its way between Moelfre in the north to Benllech. If you would like to enjoy some views from the coastal path, it is easy to join. As you approach this cove there is a gate just behind the beach cottage, built above the high water mark, which takes you onto the footpath.

Just 25 metres or so from the beach as you go up the lane is Traeth Bychan beach cafe which sells cold and hot drinks, ice creams and snacks, while next to this is a car park and toilets. Opposite the cafe is a static caravan park which are ideally placed for those wanting to enjoy watersports or walk the coastal path.

A good time to come to this quiet, sheltered beach is autumn and winter, when you can really appreciate the fine sea views and coastal walks, with little if any boating activity taking place. Traeth Bychan has a historic angle which many are not aware of, relating to a maritime incident in Liverpool bay.

Built in Cammell Laird ship yard in 1938, the "T" class submarine HMS Thetis left the Mersey on 1 June 1939 with a crew of 103, sailing out to Liverpool Bay to carry out some tests. Some unusual and catastrophic events took place while she was submerged and 99 men lost their lives. A few months later, the Thetis was refloated and brought onto Traeth Bychan beach.

In summer sunshine this sheltered beach is bustling with energy as dinghies and power craft are launched and recovered from the sea, while on a crisp, fresh winter morning it holds a special tranquility. And all along, the memory of the Thetis and her crew remains. - 16887

Absolute Hiking Essentials

By James Warner

Whether you will be dayhiking or doing a multi-day backpacking trip, these items will insure a safe and enjoyable outdoor experience.

Obtain a map of where you will be hiking. Usually, you can pick one up at the park visitor center or ranger station. You can also download maps from various websites. Having a good map will not only will not only prevent you from getting lost, but it can help rescuers find you if you suffer an injury.

Get yourself a good map reading compass. Using the map and compass together, you can orient your map to your direction and surroundings, choose the correct path and keep yourself on course.

Staying hydrated is crucial. You can survive about a month with no food, but only a few days without water. You can become dehydrated quickly by exertion, perspiration, heat and exposure. It's a good idea to have 2 one liter bottles of water. Also, carry some water purification means with you. I use a liquid water treatment drops.

It's possible to spend an unexpected night in the woods. Always have some extra food, enough for an additional day if you need it. Even having a few back up whole food bars with you should do the trick. Especially if they constitute meal replacement. You will have the extra energy with you just in case.

Bring a couple more layers of clothing. These will serve to keep you warm and dry should the temperature drop unexpectedly, you somehow become wet or both. Choose layers that are synthetic. Most of them will still retain some insulative quality even if they are wet and they tend to dry a lot faster.

Pack some sort of light source like a headlamp or flashlight. If you are forced to make camp or hike out in the dark, you will be able to see trail debris an obstacles that could cause danger.

Having an accident or injury in the backcountry is no fun. Bring a small first aid kit with you. You can create one out of household supplies but don't forget hiking needs like moleskin or blister treatment. I recommend taking a basic wilderness medicine course.

On rare occasion one must light a fire in the backcountry as a matter of survival. I've been on a kayak trip where someone overturned and they were soaked just as the temperature started to drop. Do not light a fire unless absolutely necessary. Bring matches and a lighter in a waterproof case and use caution to avoid wildfires.

A folding camp knife will serve many a purpose. Be sure that the one you choose has a blade that locks when open. I've seen knives that don't lock take off finger tips.

Last but not least, UV protection. Bring a hat with a brim, sunblock and a pair of sunglasses if you will be out in the sun for an extended period. Your eyes and skin will thank you. - 16887

Removing A Yamaha R6 Fairing

By Thomas Clausen

Anyone who has ever been on a motorcycle for a short fast ride or a longer ride quickly learns to appreciate why a motorcycle has a fairing on the front. First, it saves you from getting pummeled by the wind at high speeds. Second, without one you will be having bugs for your next meal. And third, it makes your bike more aerodynamic and thus more fuel efficient.

There are occasions when you may want or need to remove the YAMAHA R6 FAIRING on your bike. Perhaps you no longer like the stock model and you want to change it over to an after market fairing for a custom look or to be more effective in a certain area. Regardless of the reason, you'll need a little time and patience, plus the correct tools to remove the fairing properly.

Another option and reason to remove the fairing would be repairs and maintenance, cleaning or even painting should you decide to made change things up for a totally different look than you had.

When removing the fairing, you need to refer back to the manual or any of the large number of Blogs out there because the fairing is lightweight and easily cracked if you grab hold of the wrong piece and ruin it totally and leave you with something that can cost an awful lot to replace. As you look over the YAMAHA R6 FAIRING you will find little access point here and there in the fairing. These are there on purpose to make it easier for you to get at the places that might need routine maintenance without total removal of the fairing. They were put there to make life easier and save the fairing and you should use them as needed.

If you are unhappy with your current YAMAHA R6 FAIRING, you can locate after market models that range from minute and fairly inexpensive to rather costly yet infinitely more convenient replacements gears towards specific needs, which you may have found lacking on the factory fairing. No matter the reason, the fairing is a huge part of the looks of your bike and also a large part of the stability of the bike at higher speeds and the aerodynamic quality of the unit and hence, the overall riding experience.

Replacing the fairing isn't an extremely difficult task, but if you plan to do it on your own, go slow, follow the guidelines exactly, and work on the project when you have the time and patience to devote to it. Since you'll have to unhook the blinkers and do other disassembly, you'll need to keep a level head and ensure you reassemble everything correctly so your bike will still be a safe, stable ride. But when you're finished, think about how great your bike will look and how great you'll feel because you did the work yourself. - 16887

Dallas Cowboys Tickets

By David Griffith

The Dallas Cowboys, mainstays of the NFL's Eastern Conference, joined the NFL as an expansion team in 1960 and have become one of the premier organizations in the league, winning five Super Bowl championships and winning their conference eight times.

Despite their history of success, the team failed to make the playoffs during the 2008 season. Losing an embarrassing game to the Philadelphia Eagles at the end of 2008, the Cowboys understand that they need to make major changes in the 2009 offseason in order to remain competitive in an exceptionally tough division and conference.

Already, the Cowboys offseason has been full of big moves, tragedy and expectation for the 2009 season. Owner Jerry Jones has never shied away from singing big talent with big egos, but this offseason he's cutting loose three major names who he has decide are just not producing on the field as much as they are creating animosity. Terrell Owens, Adam "Pacman" Jones and Terry "Tank" Johnson have all been released from the team, clearing the locker room of a lot of noise and hopefully creating a new atmosphere for the team. Returning wideout Roy Williams will assume the role of primary receiver.

One of the danger areas for the Cowboys is their defense, which actually might be worse in 2009 than it was in 2008, ranked 20th in points allowed and unable to stop teams with a good running attack. The 2009 draft did not bring much help and the secondary is also vulnerable.

The Cowboys drafts was not a bust, however, picking up Robert Brewster, an offensive tackle from Ball State and Michael Hamlin, a safety out of Clemson who should get chances to help the team out. However, as with all rookies, only time will tell.

The Cowboys offseason has already been marred by disaster. On May 2, a sudden windstorm destroyed the Cowboys practice facility and the buildings' collapse injured twelve players and coaches. It was a horrific event, and the Cowboys will attempt to put it behind them with the opening of their long-awaited new stadium. The first game to be played will be on September 20, in Arlington and can seat up to 100,000 people.

The Cowboys need a fresh start and a new direction, and the team will be tested early by last year's running juggernaut, the Carolina Panthers. The division foe games against the Philadelphia Eagles and the New York Giants will not be easy, and the Cowboys will have to come together as a team quickly or they may find themselves once again watching the playoffs as observers. - 16887
