Texas Poker Stars: Calculator Poker

By Yuri Grandwell

In the worldwide poker industry, we have seen a huge increase in activity over the last few years. Business people have made good profits during the increase in poker activity. We will show you how people are cashing big checks in the poker world.

First, let's look at why poker has exploded. We can conclude that there were 3 separate events that created the expansion in people hitting the poker tables. Now, in chronological order, this is what occurred that caused the boom that we see in poker.

It all begins in 1994 when polish poker player, entrepreneur, Henry Orenstein developed, and patented, the technology for the "hole card cam". This allows viewers to see the pocket cards of the players when watching televised poker. "Hole card cam's" debut occurred in 1997 on the british show late night poker.

Poker had been on TV since the 70's, but had a very small viewing audience. This was because not seeing the hole cards the players had, you were guessing what the players tactics were. The hole card cam made watching poker on TV a lot more attractive.

The next thing that moved us closer to the rapid expansion of poker was the advent of online poker. The first online poker room was up and running in 1998. People are now able to play in the friendly surroundings of virtually any place they can imagine. The online poker rooms will show a growing player base as poker players became comfortable with this new poker format.

This sets the stage for the third event that caused the boom. When Chris Moneymaker wins the WSOP World Championship of Poker in 2003, the poker boom happens. Getting into the Main Event thru a $40 online poker room satellite, then winning pokers biggest prize, completes the sequence.

The combination of the pocket camera drastically adding to the number of people viewing poker on television, and the build up of internet poker rooms broadening the player base, had set the stage for poker to take off to incredible levels of popularity. Everyone seeing an internet, amateur rookie player, capture the biggest title in all of poker, poker took off.

The increases we observe ushers in a lot of potential money making opportunities for aggressive entrepreneurs. There are a lot of ways to become wealthy in poker. The majority of these possibilities are online. Let's list a few of the businesses you might want to start that involve poker.

Some poker amateurs have turned themselves into successful professional poker players. A lot of internet business people have gotten very wealthy being an affiliate for the online poker rooms. Books about poker tactics seem to be fabulous sellers.

People have developed software products that assist online players in gaining information from the games they play in. Some people are opening their own online poker rooms. Some people have started live poker leagues happening at pubs and bars in many areas of the country.

This are a few, but definately not all, of the interesting opportunities that people are finding to cash in on the accelerated growth of poker. Operating a poker opportunity that can be done online has to be the most promising. The future for poker still looks bright, and the opportunities are there for those ambitious enough to take a chance. - 16887
