Have a Great Vacation

By Kermil J. Fogarth

Having worked hard for a year, you now need a stress relieving vacation to get away from it all and create some new memories to share with family and friends.

Taking your family on vacation - if you have one- means you must consult them while choosing a vacation spot. While surprises are always fun, if you have children, you must remember that there must be something for them to do as well or tyranny may reign and the surprise could turn into a nightmare. Going away from friends, even if for only a week, can seem to children something that requires an effort. You can make things easier for them to have fun on vacation by providing new exciting things to do, things that combine having fun with learning for example.

Having chosen a location the next thing to consider is the weather. It probably is different there than at home. For example, the mountains tend to be a little cool even in the summer so you should bring along clothing that is appropriate for that kind of weather. On the other hand, if you are going to a tropical or hot location, don't forget to bring an umbrella. In the tropics though it is summer most of the year, it usually rains every day and you don't want heavy rains to ruin your vacation.

Many wonderful places exist all around the world. If you can afford it, you could make a trip around the world to visit the "seven wonders of the world". It would be worth the expense. For example, the Pyramids hold many mysteries since the ancient Egyptians, encompassing a technology and architecture seldom matched in today's world. Take a walk through these wonders and try to figure out the mystery, to find out for yourself the simplicity of the people surrounded by the splendor of the area.

Vacation can be spent at home also. We can just relax and catch up on lost sleep if we feel too exhausted to travel. Meeting friends, barbecues, sitting by the pool and playing with children will make us forget the hard year that passed.

A vacation can simply be time spent at home winding down or an exciting trip to exotic places. Planning the vacation can be as intense as actually taking the vacation even if you stay at home. The vacation should not be stressful when the purpose is to relieve stress. - 16887
