The Variety of Airsoft Rifle Designs

By Justin Kander

Several kinds of airsoft rifles are widely available. Most airsoft rifles share the same basic attributes, but they differ in their appearance.

The AK-47 is a very popular airsoft replica. It has been used for decades and has a relatively simple design. Also, this rifle is one of the few that is found nearly all around the world.

The Steyr AUG is an Austrian rifle manufactured since the late 1970s. It has an easy to hold design, is notably sleek, and is quite fast. Only recently has it become a widely used variant, as portrayal in the media has made it considerably more recognized

A fairly new type of rifle is the Heckler & Koch G36 assault rifle. The G36 is incredibly precise and has gained a lot of notoriety in its short existence. G36 airsoft guns are produced primarily by Classic Army and Echo1.

The M14 is a predecessor to the M16 and is not widespread anymore, but as a replica it still has value. The company that produces the multitude of current airsoft M14s is Echo1.

The much newer M16 is one of the most effective weapons in the world. It is highly accurate and has a very maneuverable design. Most of the M16s in airsoft are full metal, and thus sufficiently durable in any situation.

One of the most popular, if not the most, is the H&K MP5. It has its origins in the 1960s and is used by dozens of countries for military and law enforcement purposes. In airsoft, the MP5 shares the properties of the real life counterpart by displaying an amazing firing rate.

These are just a few of the many variants available in airsoft. Even people who do not play airsoft like to buy airsoft guns just for the replica value, although to get the most out of them it is suggested that they actually be used. - 16887
