Review - NCAA Football 10

By Carl Ferguson

Let's face it; practically everyone enjoys college football what with the sound of the band playing, helmets crashing together and of course the crowds roaring. In fact, the atmosphere can be so charged that it can literally send shivers down your spine. Even though nothing can quite take the place of the real thing, NCAA 10 certainly does come very close. With so many new features, the franchise has never been better so let's take a look at why you should consider getting the latest installment of NCAA 10.

One of the most noticeable things about NCAA Football 10 is that a lot of things remain unchanged so of course you can still expect incredibly realistic football simulation. Thanks to the incredible power of the next generation consoles, it's probably the most realistic thing you've ever come across.

Just as is to be expected, this year's version incorporates numerous new features but of course, just as in previous years, you can still play against other people online. In fact, the game now includes a mode known as "Season Showdown" in which you get to play fore your favorite school. To start with; you get to choose one school to which you would like to play and of course, the more you play and win, the more points you end up getting for your school. In addition to trivia games, there are also a number of other interactive games you can play in order to win points. When you get to the end of the year, the school with the most points is awarded the Season Showdown National Championship. Of course, as you can imagine, this is an ideal way for you to interact with a number of other players, not to mention the fact that you get to cheer your school on.

Undeniably, one of the best features of the game remain the "Dynasty" mode because essentially, with this version you can actually go on further in that you can create your very own school. This in turn allows you to put your stand on everything to do with your program in that you get to design the school's logo, pick the fight song, name the school, and also create your own team. In fact, you're even enabled to customize players to play on your team.

For those people who have become accustomed to playing Madden, this type of football game will afford you a whole new opportunity and of course the game play is still unbeatable. There is simply so much in this game that you cannot get from an NFL game.

Over and above what has already been mentioned, the game planning feature is also incredibly cool in that it allows you to put to a certain amount of the emphasis on the game. In other words, one can always decide to put more emphasis on opening up running lanes should you be having trouble running the ball. Of course, you do need to bear in mind that if you do this it will result in you getting more holding calls.

The strategic playcalling mode is a welcome addition to the game as well. This allows you to keep your opponents guessing and catch them off guard. You can run several different plays out of the same formation. Catch them sleeping with a play-action pass or a reverse.

The bottom line is; at present there is nothing out there really which can convey to NCAA Football 10 simply because it remains in a class of its own within the gaming industry. If you would like to once again lose yourself in the thrill and excitement of college football, then you the need to check the game out today. - 16887
