Music for Millions - Teary account of war-newlywed Allyson, a cellist in Iturbi's orchestra, bravely delaying to have a baby for her husband's return. O'Brien is her precocious baby sister. Cast includes Margaret O'Brien, Jimmy Durante, June Allyson, Marsha Seek, Hugh Herbert, Marie Wilson, Larry Adler, and Ethel Griffies. (120 minutes, 1944)

In Enemy Country - So-so designer of WW2 enthrall, set in France and England, filmed on a back-lot. Not tremendously persuading. Cast includes Tony Franciosa, Anjanette Comer, Guy Stockwell, Paul Hubschmid, Tom Bell, and Emile Genest. (107 minutes, 1968)

Bewitched - Isabelle is a witch, living in the San Fernando Valley, and trying to not use her mystical powers. She finds herself being courted by actor Jack Watt to play the role of Samantha the witch in a remake of the old 1960's sitcom Bewitched. What a eccentric twist of fate.

Thunderheart - There have been a number of killings on the Sioux Indian Reservation. The FBI goes in to deal with the circumstances. One agent, Ray Levoi, has Sioux blood. As he examines the case he soon realizes there is much more going on than some arbitrary killings.

The Geisha Boy - Jerry, an incompetent warlock, travels to Japan with appalling repercussions. Ingenious graphic gags; there's a clever pattern characterizing the Los Angeles Dodgers and, purposely, Gil Hodges. Cast includes Jerry Lewis, Marie McDonald, Sessue Hayakawa, Nobu McCarthy, Suzanne Pleshette, Barton MacLane, and Robert Hirano. (98 minutes, 1958)

Life on a Strand - Musical, beautifully filmed tale of a blind boy who's informed by his master that his ability to see can be repaired if he commits his life to music; he gets to be a saintly old gentleman still without vision who voyages from village to village with his young follower harmonizing melodies, which he finds emotionally nurturing. Considerate film full with poetic energy, and a soundtrack of astonishing melodies. Cast includes Liu Zhong Yuan, Huang Lei, Xu Qing, Ma Ling, and Zhang Zhengguan. (110 minutes, 1991)

Hanky Panky - Blameless designer Wilder is chased by snoops, cops, etc. Unsurprising, hardly nonsensical comedy-thriller, with Radner miscast as the love interest. The flick was intended to be a follow-up to Stir Crazy, although Richard Pryor's part was revised for Gilda. You have watched it all before, and more superior. Cast includes Gene Wilder, Gilda Radner, Kathleen Quinlan, Richard Widmark, Robert Prosky, Josef Sommer, and Johnny Sekka. (88 minutes, 1982)
