It is also advisable to consider physical appearance of the shoe when selecting a pair. Shoes that are pointy or have high heels should be avoided if your purpose is to use it for walking. However, shoppers should not focus too much on the visual appeal of the shoe because comfort and functionality matter most.

In addition, shoppers can consider more advanced features in choosing their fitness shoes. Science and engineering technology enable shoes to be precise down to the minutest detail of padding support and flexibility. It should be noted that walking shoes should have flexible soles. This will allow easier rolling of foot from heel to toe.

Cushioning is another factor for shoe selection. It should be capable of handling 1.5 times the weight of the user. Breathability features are also important for walkers.

Their shoes should be composed of highly breathable material to facilitate good air circulation to minimize foot sweating and aid in better walking experience. Lastly, its tread should not be too deep and should blend well with shoe sole and walls in providing the perfect grip.

One factor that is usually neglected is the shoelace. While this may seem unimportant, this is can actually affect your walk exercise. Just imagine the trouble of having frequent loose strings on your shoe. This will cause to pause every now and then and disrupt the normal flow of your exercise.
