Browsing For A Terrific Movie? Check Out These Popular Movie Reviews

By Darell Rollins

Now is the top point in history to be a movie buff. It used to be that the only way you could see a good film was to visit the theater. Later video stores came on the scene but you had to go over there and many times the films were out of stock. You also needed to fret about getting the motion picture back to the store in a timely manner or you had to pay a late fee. Even now when you can get movies in the mail, you still have to wait.

Far and Away - A scrappy Irish tenant farmer hooks up, in doubtful style, with the comparably lively daughter of a wealthy landowner, and together they travel to America to search for their final fortune in the'93 Oklahoma land rush. Superlative platform for Tom and Nicole, who are both beautiful and involving; the problem is a extreme dearth of good dialogue to fill the gaps between fight scenes. Cast includes Tom Cruise, Nicole Kidman, Thomas Gibson, Robert Prosky, Barbara Babcock, Cohn Meaney, and Rance Howard. (140 minutes,'92)

Rhapsody in Blue - Hollywood biography of George Gershwin is largely fiction, although comes off better than most other composer biographies, seizing Gershwin's enthusiasm for his work, and some of his central conflicts. Cast includes Robert Aida, Joan Leslie, Alexis Smith, Oscar Levant, Charles Coburn, Hazel Scott, and Al Jolson. (139 minutes,'45)

Mysterious Lady - An Austrian armed forces officer (Nagel) falls in love with Garbo, naive that she is a Russian agent. Another artificial plot made serviceable by Garbo herself. Cast includes Greta Garbo, Conrad Nagel, Gustav von Seyffertitz, Albert Pollet, and Edward Connelly. (96 minutes,'28)

The In Laws - Everyone can relate to this awkward situation. The in laws are coming and you just have to endure. Don't try this at home! Unrated version runs 93. Cast includes Peter Falk, Alan Arkin, Richard Libertini, and Nancy Dussault. (103 minutes,'64)

The Night of the Iguana - Trudging storyline based on Tennessee Williams play. Recovered alcoholic clergyman Burton, a bus-journey guide in Mexico, becomes involved with Kerr, Gardner, and Lyon. Dorothy Jeakins won an Oscar for her costumes. Cast includes Richard Burton, Deborah Kerr, Ava Gardner, Sue Lyon, Skip Ward, Grayson Chamber, and Cyril Delevanti. (118 minutes,'64)

Inferno - American returns to New York from school in Rome to research the shocking death of his sibling, and finds "sinister moms" inflicting paranormal disorder on both sides of Atlantic. Surreal, spellbinding shocker by Italian terror maestro Argento does not make much sense, but it has a lot of style. Cast includes Leigh McCloskey, Irene Marvel, Sacha Pitoeff, Daria Nicolodi, Eleonora Giorgi, Veronica Lazar, and Alida Valli. (107 minutes,'84)

Before you start downloading movies look at a couple of the accessible sites. If you want to be able to burn the movie onto a Compact disk so you can watch it on your Television, make sure that you can do that. Look for a excellent selection and check to see if the site offers you information on the time that it takes to download a movie. - 16887
