David L Baker Golf Course Will Lower Your Golf Score

By Golf Buddy

Most golfers would like to lower their handicap but have few methods to accomplish that feat. However, the David L. Baker Golf Course, located in the heart of Orange County, is set up to make that happen. The course is a par 62 medium length course that allows golfers to play on tight fairways with plenty of hazards. Not only will a golfer increase his confidence while playing in these conditions but the short par threes will help increase the accuracy of an average golferas short game.

David Baker's par four holes are not that long, maxing out at approximately 320 yards. Big hitters will be tempted to take out the Ping or Callaway driver and go for the green. This may or may not be a wise decision.

This works for an accurate golfer but most folks working on their game find that a well placed five iron followed by a wedge is a less risky option. One critical aspect to lowering golf scores is accuracy and the ability to recover from a bad shot

The iron followed by wedge approach on the par fours fits with the "improve your golf score" mantra that is part of the David L. Baker Golf Course philosophy. This approach also extends to the par threes where golfers will be able to further practice their iron play.

Golfers know that a good short game promotes lower scores. Baker's par threes lets all golfers of any skill level work on their iron game. Most of the par three holes are reachable with a seven iron or less and this focuses the golfer on short game and green side rescue techniques.

Many golfers will be tempted to go for the pin on these short par three holes. However there are some unseen hazards lurking around each of the greens; hazards that could easily turn birdie into bogey. Learning how to avoid these hazards or at least recover from them is an important element in lowering a golf score.

Hereas where the third chance to lower your score comes in: water and sand trap hazards.
Knowing how to navigate hazards is a skill that quickly can lead to lower scores, and a much more enjoyable time on the course.

David L Baker has no shortage of these hazards, and one can really take advantage of this fact to improve their score and get some much-needed practice in. Watch your score drop as you take advantage of Bakeras natural features to get some practice in and have fun while you do it. - 16887
