How to make a bike to suit you perfectly

By Alison Addy

You don't have anything more than custom-built bicycle. It comes with the exact height, exact weight with the correct components and gives you the correct feeling. The components of the bicycle can be bought separately and then combined together for the bike or even have a custom built bicycle for you. However, the latter would cost much as every component would be a custom-made. The amount of satisfaction would be immense and you would just love your bike riding.

Top tube would be the first part that you need to select. A long torso would need a bicycle that has a long top tube. He can even have a handlebar stem that is long however he would need to sit with the weight on the front wheel. This has an effect on the bike handling and so this is not advised much. It is always good for you to have frame which has long top tube.

Long top tubes are not comfortable for women as they would need to stretch far. Many women for compensating this turn the stem towards the back or even get a seat post that is long and a bike stem that is high-rising.

The standard height of a bicycle is 47 cm on the smaller side and on the higher side it is 63cm. 40 cm bikes are manufactured for women however the tubing would be standard which would make the ride uncomfortable. You need to decide upon the height that would fit you the most.

Apart from the frame, you need to have a handle bar which comes with a right width and depth and also a correct length of the crank arms. A feeling of good is the main concern which means that the bike should not be very supple or very stiff but should be comfortable and responsive. You get stability for your long distance rides or racings through the 73 degree angle that is given to the head tube and seat tube.

Also the parts like the bottom bracket, seat post, the hubs and the headset should match to your needs. Also consider a frame that is lightweight since it makes handling the bike easier.

Now as you would be getting a bike according to your wish you can make use of your aesthetic sense for making it look more trendy and attractive. The best part of a bike that is built to match the specifications would be a personal touch.

It is always great to have a bike of your choice however this might cost you much because of the special parts and also the additional cost of fitting them. Also, assembling the parts does take some time and you just cannot purchase a bicycle off the shop. It is difficult to ascertain your specifications or of bicycle parts. An experienced cyclist would only know what is it that he requires? - 16887
